Over the years, I’ve written three devotional books. They grew out of different seasons of my own walk with God, everyday experiences, Scripture, and many of the lessons He taught me along the way.
You’ll find plenty of stories in them because that’s how I tend to communicate. You’ll also find some humour, some honest moments, and hopefully something that encourages you in your own walk with God.
Seasons
Seasons is a collection of 90 short devotionals that grew out of everyday life, Scripture, and things God has taught me along the way.
Some came out of joyful seasons. Others came through waiting, disappointment, change, and those times when I had more questions than answers.
That’s the thing about seasons. They change, but many of the lessons we learn while walking through them stay with us.
My hope is that somewhere in these pages, you’ll find something that encourages you, gives you something to ponder, or helps you recognize God at work in your own season.
“The short devotionals in this book are short enough to read in the morning before starting a busy day, as a touchpoint to reconnect with God in the middle of the craziness, and/or as a way to regroup at the end of the day. However, the depth of what is written within them, leaves you much to ponder on.”

Dare to Call Him Friend
God calls us His friends. I still find that rather amazing.
Dare to Call Him Friend is a collection of more than 90 short devotionals centred around that invitation to friendship with God.
What does it look like to know God rather than simply know about Him? What happens when we allow Him into the everyday parts of our lives, including the messy bits? And what might happen when He invites us beyond what’s comfortable and familiar?
Friendship requires trust, vulnerability, and sometimes a willingness to take a risk. Friendship with God is no different.
And yes, I believe the risk is worth it.
“Jesus taught with stories. Katherine Walden follows in His steps in Dare to Call Him Friend. Her gift is releasing seeds of hope. In bite size morsels she builds your appetite for a relationship with an amazing, understanding and powerful friend.”

Not Always All Together
Are Christians really supposed to have it all together all the time?
I hope not as I certainly don’t.
Not Always All Together is a 31-day devotional about some of the expectations we often place on ourselves and each other as we attempt to do life together as the family of God.
Through stories from my own Christian walk, Scripture, humour, and practical applications, I look at some of the misconceptions we can pick up along the way.
We mess up. We have questions. We get hurt. We’re still growing.
God knows that.
This book is an invitation to give ourselves and each other room to grow while continuing to follow Him together.
“Her honest and vulnerable stories taken from a lifetime of serving God will first disarm you and then hit you right between the eyes with truths that have to be acted on.... These devotionals are to be savoured, meditated on, and lived out in the world.”
— John Spencer, author of The Lost Parables series
